Year: 2023
Scope: Our engineering team was engaged to develop engineering concepts and feasibility recommendations supporting a major plant expansion initiative for a food processing facility. The project focused on identifying existing process bottlenecks, evaluating facility limitations, and developing a phased capital investment approach aligned with the client’s long-term production growth objectives.
Challenges: Existing plant layout and building was not constructed with future expansion in mind limiting utilities tie ins as the current system was near maximum practical capacity.
Results: The overall assessment resulted in 8+ concepts for future growth, all focusing on phased capital investment. High level process layouts provided the client with a visual representation of how the expansion will look during each phase of capital projects. Peak identified key utility driven bottlenecks that required upsizing in order to proceed to expansion. Such bottlenecks included the undersized ammonia system which based on Peak Recommendation and current on going involvement became the first project for the client.
