Year: 2023
Scope: Upgrade and reconfiguration of dicing equipment within an existing potato processing line to improve operational reliability and reduce production interruptions associated with slicer plug-ups and equipment faults.
Challenges: Existing process area had limited available space for equipment and layout modifications. New system configuration needed to integrate with existing upstream and downstream equipment.
Results: The upgraded system was designed to improve operational flexibility while minimizing manual intervention requirements and maintaining production throughput. The project involved development of a new process layout within the existing facility footprint, allowing the production line to continue operating during maintenance events or equipment disruptions. As a result Peak team provided engineering design and integration services to ensure new cutters were installed within the footprint constraints, through upstream and downstream equipment adjustments such as conveyer modifications and transition points.
